Jesse Ring was born in the Ozarks in an octagonal home that his father built. He received his MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2015 and is Assistant Professor of Art in Ceramics and Sculpture at University of Florida in the School of Art + Art History. Jesse was a visiting artist at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and artist in residence at Vermont Studio Center, Zentrum fur Keramik, and Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. His work has been shown nationally at the Aspen Art Museum, Burchfield Penny Museum, Pensacola Museum of Art and internationally in China, Germany and Hungary.
